Dr David Roomes

David is a practicing occupational physician and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, the Faculty of Occupational Medicine and the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. He has a law degree majoring in medical law and ethics.

David leads the Global Occupational Health function at Bristol Myers Squibb, a global biopharmaceutical company with a mission to discover, develop and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious disease. Previous roles in industry were with Rolls-Royce (aerospace & defense) Rio Tinto (mining) and GlaxoSmithKline (pharmaceuticals).

He is a former Vice President (Registrar) of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine and has previously served on the Boards of both the Faculty and the Society of Occupational Medicine in the UK. He is a member of the International Corporate Health Leadership Council and a founder member of the National Forum for Health and Wellbeing in the UK.

His special interests include health equity; the intersection between climate and health; workplace mental health and wellbeing and workforce wellbeing as an enabler to enhance engagement, productivity, and performance.
